About LEAP

LEAP is a free business support service in the Lewes District set up under the Hot House Initiative funded by the EU and Lewes District Council. It aims to help pre-start, start-up and young businesses to succeed and grow, along with developing leadership and growth in experienced business entrepreneurs.

The LEAP Programmes are funded by Lewes District Council and the EU. They include the LEAP Business Start-up Programme, the LEAP Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme, and our 1-2-1 business mentoring support.

It is a priority for Lewes District Council to support and grow entrepreneurs and businesses. The Council funds and supports a number of business support services so residents and businesses have access to free expert advice to turn ideas and ambitions into successful businesses.

The Council has invested more into its Local Enterprise & Apprenticeship Platform (LEAP) programme. Originally launched in 2013 to help entrepreneurs’ start-up a business, the service has expanded and now provides free business support and advice to all residents and businesses in the Lewes District to develop and grow their ideas and enterprises.

Due to the introduction of the Hot House initiative, LEAP has been able to expand. The LEAP Entrepreneurial Leadership Programme is a new addition to our services, launching in 2020. The programme will provide businesses within the Lewes District with an opportunity to improve management and leadership skills.

The LEAP Programmes are funded by Lewes District Council and the EU under the Hot House initiative, and Edeal is contracted to deliver the service.

The LEAP Programmes are delivered by Edeal.
