LEAP winners celebrate, sharing a prize fund totalling £3000

The LEAP entrepreneur programme celebrates with another winner being awarded £2,500 towards her new business start-up at the LEAP Business award ceremony at The View in Seaford.Tara Burn of Resus Rangers was the overall winner after six candidates presented their business plans to a panel of judges in a Dragon’s Den-style competition held at the Lewes Town Hall. For the last six years Tara Burn has worked in the ambulance control room, during that time she has taken over ten thousand 999 calls. Some of those desperate calls have been made by children.

When the government changed the national curriculum to include First Aid lessons in schools, Tara saw a unique opportunity to create something specifically for children based on her knowledge of first aid that could be delivered across all schools in the UK. Through Resus Rangers Tara teaches children life saving skills from the age of 4 years old using an animated programme which includes song, rhyme and dance, this meets the National Curriculum requirements and can help save lives!

This year’s runner-up and winner of £500 was Kirsten Taylor of White Cloud Massage Therapies based in Newhaven. White Cloud Massage Therapies is an independent, local therapy business offering a selected range of holistic and medical based treatments to support its clients’ bodies and minds with an emphasis on lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy and combining holistic and more traditional therapies.

Congratulations to all this years candidates.
